IMREN 20700 3200mah 40A Battery Review

rechargeable 20700 battery

The tests below solely record the approximate ratings for these batteries at the testing time. Any battery that is not an authentic Samsung, Sony, LG, Panasonic, or Sanyo is subject to potential changes! This is one of the risks associated with using "rewrapped" batteries or batteries from other manufacturers, so it is crucial to thoroughly research any battery you are considering before making a purchase.

Usage

Improper usage or mishandling of lithium-ion batteries can result in a GRAVE THREAT to personal well-being or property. These vape batteries are intended for use exclusively within a protected battery pack. Never exceed the batteries' current rating, and ensure that the plastic wrap and top insulating ring remain pristine.

Test warning

Testing batteries to their limits is perilous and should NEVER be attempted by individuals who have not extensively studied the associated hazards, comprehended the risks involved, possessed the appropriate equipment, and taken all necessary safety precautions.

If the Imren 20700 3200mAh displays only a single current rating number or states "max," it must be assumed that it is rated at that current level for any form of discharge, including continuous release.

Additional Tips

Although this cell features a significantly oversized "max" current rating of 40A on the wrap, almost like Imren 18650 3500mAh, it provides accurate continuous current and capacity ratings.

I appreciate the mention of the continuous discharge rating (CDR) on the wrap. Still, I am displeased with including a "max" current rating, especially when it is displayed more prominently than the CDR. I hope Imren eliminates the max rating shortly.

The cells I tested delivered 3249mAh and 3337mAh at a current of 0.5A down to 2.5V.

These battery cells performed admirably, slightly surpassing the performance of the five top contact cells wrapped by iJoy, Efest, EBAT, Ampking, and others.

Based on my estimation, I assign the following ratings to this Imren cell: 25A and 3200mAh.

Imren 20700 3200mAh Performance Specifications

Average DC Internal Resistance = 15.6mOhms (milliohms) for the two cells.

Total energy delivered down to 3.2V at a continuous current of 10A = 9.5Wh (Watt-hours) on average

Total energy delivered down to 3.2V at a continuous current of 20A = 7.3Wh (Watt-hours) on average

Imren paid a fee to expedite their placement in the testing queue, which has a backlog of 10-12 weeks. However, this payment does not influence my test results since they pay in advance and have no control over this report's content. It is immaterial to me whether any company engages in such payments or battery donations in the future. Maintaining my reputation holds far greater significance than any battery pack donation or payment.
